Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are the backbone of the Canadian economy, but they often face significant challenges when it comes to embracing digital technologies. To help SMBs grow and thrive in the digital age, the Canadian government has launched the Canada Digital Adoption Grow Your Business Online grant.

The Grow Your Business Online grant is a new initiative from the federal government’s Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) department. The grant provides eligible SMBs with up to $2,400 in funding to cover the costs of building or improving their online presence. The grant is part of the government’s broader efforts to support economic recovery and growth in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility

The grant is available to SMBs across Canada that have a Canada Revenue Agency business number and have earned at lease $30,000 in the last tax year OR has one or more employees aside from the business owner. The grant can be used to cover the costs of a wide range of online activities, including website design, e-commerce platforms, digital marketing tools, social media advertising, and more.

To apply for the grant, businesses must complete an online application form that outlines their digital needs and plans for implementation. Applications are assessed on a first-come, first-served basis, so businesses are encouraged to apply early to increase their chances of success.

About the Grant

The Grow Your Business Online grant is a fantastic opportunity for Canadian SMBs to embrace digital technologies and grow their businesses online. With the shift to online commerce accelerated by the pandemic, having a strong online presence is more important than ever for businesses of all sizes.
